This is especially relevant in the current environment where anyone can call themselves an accountant, even though they may have no formal qualifications.

To be a Chartered Accountant, someone must have completed a minimum of three years’ in-depth training, including practical experience, be a member of the ICAEW, be committed to continuing professional development, hold a practicing certificate, hold professional indemnity insurance and be part of the ICAEW’s practice assurance scheme.
