Annual return becomes confirmation statement

Annual return becomes confirmation statement

From 30 June the annual return has been replaced with the confirmation statement.

The confirmation statement serves the same purpose as the annual return, giving the public record up to date information on the company.

When completing the confirmation statement at Companies House, you are required to “check and confirm” that the information held on the record is accurate. This is done on an annual basis, the same way in which the old annual return was.

The first time you complete the confirmation statement, you will need to include details held about people with significant control (PSC).

The fee for the confirmation statement is the same as the annual return, £13 when filed online and £40 when filed on paper. You can also update the confirmation statement any time within the 12 month period without having to pay an additional fee.

The time limit’s have reduced from 28 days to 14 days and you will need the company’s authentication code in order to be able to file the confirmation statement online.
